The irregularity of the average rainfalls in this part of the Kalahari makes every visit a surprise! The arid landscape can transform into a lush and green pastures with flowers, creepers and bulbous plants.

Animals

The animals that can be sighted at Eningu are Springbok, Kudu, Oryx, Klipspringer, Steenbok, Duiker, Hartebeest, Wildebeest, Warthog, Ground squirrel, Mongoose, Suricate, Hare, Baboon, Cheetah and others. 

The mainly nocturnal animals in the area are Leopard, Aardvark, African Wild Cat, Caracal, Bat Eared Fox, Genet, Badger, Porcupine, Rabbit, etc.

Birds

In this area of the Kalahari we have a huge variety of birds! For e.g.: Bronze winged Courser, Hammerkop, Secretary Bird, White backed Vulture, Black shouldered Kite, Tawny Eagle, Rock Kestrel, Red billed Francolin, Common Quail, Guinea fowl, Kori Bustard, Red crested Khoraan, Black Khoraan, Crowned Plover, Blacksmith Plover, Burchell´s Courser, Double banded Courser, Namaqua Sand grouse, Barn Owl, Spotted Eagle Owl, Lilac breasted Roller, Hoopoe, Pied Barbet, Grey backed Finch lark, Red eyed Bulbul, Crimson Breasted Shrike and many, many more.
